Mike Ciavolino produced hundreds of photographs in New York and New Jersey from the late 1940's through the 1970's. Many were assignments and three are in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. He was an early student of Sid Grossman (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sid_Grossman) and told us that they would meet in the early evening and review photos all night until daylight. Many of these were shot with a 4x5 bellows camera or early 35MM SLRs. All were hand printed.
These photos are from the last public showing he did before retiring. All photos are copyright restricted and may not be reproduced without permission. Interested parties can contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
